The Thoreau Center is located at 3500 Kingman Boulevard in Des Moines, which is just north of the I-235 freeway on the southwest corner of 35th Street and Kingman Blvd.. The Thoreau center is located between the 31st Street and 42nd Street freeway exits.

Driving to The Thoreau Center from the Freeway
Take the 31st Street Exit. Drive north on 31st Street to Kingman Blvd. Turn left onto Kingman and drive west four blocks. The Thoreau Center is on the left at the corner of 35th and Kingman. You may park in the large parking lot to the south of the Thoreau Center.
Driving to The Thoreau Center from Drake University
From University Avenue, turn south on 35th Street. Drive to the four-way stop at Kingman Blvd. The Thoreau Center is on your right at the corner of 35th and Kingman. You may park in the large parking lot to the south of the Thoreau Center.
Driving to The Thoreau Center from downtown Des Moines
From downtown, drive west on Grand Avenue to 35th Street. Take a right, now driving north. Three blocks after going under the freeway, the Thoreau Center is the corner building on your left at the four-way stop at Kingman Blvd. You may park in the large parking lot to the south of the Thoreau Center.
